Choose from six starter Pokémon, begin in your preferred region, and build your team while other trainers explore alongside you. Your journey is your own—but you don’t have to travel alone.
Catch, train and build your team
Catch wild Pokémon, earn experience and develop your team through level-ups and supported evolutions. Track the Pokémon you’ve seen and caught in your Pokédex, choose which moves to learn, and check your Pokémon’s upcoming level-up moves. Rethinking your moveset? Use the Move Reminder to recover eligible moves and refine your team.
Take on the Gym challenge
Battle NPC trainers, face 16 Gym Leaders and work your way through the badge challenge. Follow adventure-journal goals and earn one-time rewards along the way. With the standard progression settings, badges also unlock Surf and travel to discovered locations, giving you more ways to explore as you advance.
Meet, battle and trade
See other trainers exploring the same maps, travel with a Pokémon follower, and join the conversation through global General and Trade chat. Challenge fellow players to singles battles or arrange Pokémon trades to expand your collection. Whether you’re chasing badges or looking for your next opponent, other trainers are part of the adventure.
See and hear every clash
Turn-based battles feature attack lunges, hit reactions, floating damage numbers, critical-hit messages and type-effectiveness feedback. Regional music, battle themes, move sounds and Pokémon cries bring that familiar handheld atmosphere to your online journey, with adjustable audio controls to suit the way you play.
A journey that continues
Visit Nurse Joy inside Pokémon Centers to heal your team, organise your Pokémon through PC storage, and return to your saved progress each session. Your Pokémon, trainer victories, badges and adventure milestones are saved on the server, so your next login picks up the journey you’ve been building.
